We're just like a car club, except we don't own a fleet of vehicles. All the cars available for rent on iCarsclub are owned by people who live near you who don't use their car all the time. Just like a car club, we give you the flexibility to use a nearby car whenever you need one. Car rentals can be for hours, days, weeks or even months. Unlike most car clubs, we have cars available all across the Singapore (and other cities in Asia soon). You can join iCarsclub for free, it only takes a few minutes.
The average car in Singapore and other Asian cities is driven for just 14 hours a week and the cost of owning and running a car these days is enough to make your eyes water. iCarsclub lets you earn money from your car, whenever it's not being used. You set your own rental price, decide exactly who can drive your car and when it's available. iCarsclub handles all the hassle, including providing fully comprehensive insurance for the duration of every rental. Lots of car owners also use iCarsclub to rent cars when their own isn't quite right for the job. You can pop around town in a convertible, grab a people carrier for a family weekend break, or hop in an estate for a trip to Ikea.
The great thing about renting a car from a real person is knowing the car will be clean and well looked after. It also means that you can pick someone that lives nice and near you. You also get much more flexibility with the length of the rental (anything from 1 hour to 6 months!) and pick up and drop off times. We've also got the most diverse car rental fleet in the world available to rent. So you can pick the perfect car for each trip. In addition, your cost to rent is likely much lower than market rental rate as the car sharing owner are sharing their free car time for your need. Start with a search to see what you could drive.
We screen every car before it is allowed to join the iCarsclub service and all of our members are security checked. Each of our drivers has their driving history verified with the land transport authority before they can submit a booking request. The insurance iCarsclub arranges protects all rentals made through the service with an insurance product that has been created especially for our members. In the unlikely event of an accident, the vehicle owner's existing insurance is not affected. At the end of a booking, members are invited to review their experience - these reviews give a great indication of the member's trustworthyness and reliability. You can also check out each member's profile page to see if you are happy to rent with them.
We think iCarsclub is a brilliant and obvious idea that needed to exist. Cars sitting parked for days on end are a waste of both money and space. We don't see the point in new cars being made while so many that already exist are underutilised. We do want to make better use of the cars that are on the road, saving our members money and doing our small bit to help the planet in the process.

We accept cars registered in Singapore (other cities in Asia soon) that are less than 8 years old and travels less than 400,000KM.
If you need to disable your listing for any reason, e.g. you have to take your car for repairs, etc. it's easy!
Log into your account at iCarsclub.com. Click on your name and then go to the "My Car" page.
Next to the row of your car, click on “Disable Listing”.
When you're ready to place it back on the site for renting, click on “Enable Listing”.
Absolutely! For owners of Request Reservation cars you will have the opportunity to review the circumstances of each potential rental. In addition to considering the timing of requests you can review each renter's profile which includes personal information about the renter, information about the number of trips he or she has taken as well as reviews from other car owners like you.
In your car description you should clearly articulate any limitations you would like the renter to respect, i.e. you may write “your trips should be limited to local area, i.e., cannot be driven to Malaysia or no more than 100 kms per day”. When the renter requests your car, you should again emphasize your preferences directly to them. iCarBox could help car owner to track the mileage during a specific rental period. The mileage information can be easily accessed in owner's profile page.
Key Exchange: You will arrange to meet the renter to exchange keys for pick up and drop off.
Keyless Entry by Mobile Phones: For vehicles that are technology enabled, keys can be left somewhere secure inside the vehicle and the renter can keyless enter the vehicle via iCarsclub mobile website.
You are required to ensure that your vehicle complies with all laws and regulations with regard to vehicle safety, condition and operation. We advise that you obtain a Safety Inspection at by following LTA guidelines to ensure your car is safe to operate. A typical Safety Inspection includes these areas listed by LTA guidelines on System of a Vehicle to be Checked.
If there is damage caused while a renter is using your car, we will obtain the pertinent details from the renter, including the police report, and file a claim. A representative from our Claims Department will then contact you and guide you through the claims process. If you are going to be in need of a car while yours is being repaired, the renter will be liable to provide you up to $30 per day for your transportation needs, for up to 15 days (capping at $450). You can choose to drive an iCar (an iCarsclub car), in which case the renter will provide you the corresponding driving credit ($30 per day capped at 15 days with a total $450) to cover the reservation cost or you can use alternative methods, i.e. bus, taxi, another rental agency. No, your insurance should not be affected. When you drive your car, you are covered under your existing policy. However, when rental car sharing through the iCarsclub service, we provide an insurance policy to protect them, you and your car. If they get into an accident, our insurance policy will go into effect, leaving your personal policy untouched. Your policy likely has a specific exclusion for coverage for when you rent out your car, which is precisely why iCarsclub has purchased this insurance policy for you.
We understand that sharing your car with your community is a big decision. One of the ways we protect you is by providing a comprehensive insurance policy that protects you against lawsuits for injuries and property damage while your car is being rented through the iCarsclub service. So, if something unfortunate does happen when your car is being rented, your insurance policy is not touched.
You earn around 80% of the reservation fee and get paid on any gas charges as well as excess mileage charges. You also receive extra payment from the fines that are levied against a renter due to a policy violation, i.e. smoking, returning the car late, etc. If you incur any charges directly attributed to a renter not following policy, i.e. towing fees, parking ticket, etc. we will reimburse you.
We'll send you a check every month. It usually takes us about 15 days to calculate earnings, so you can expect checks for the previous month to arrive between the 15th and the 30th.
You set the hourly, daily, and weekly prices for your car!
You should consider several factors to set the right price for your car. For example, the age and condition of your car, whether you have dedicated or street parking, and whether it has a large cargo capacity, like a truck or van. You should also consider your neighborhood and other nearby iCars.
Availability, pricing and marketing are all key in earning more money!
The less you use your car, the more your neighbors can. Try to lump your trips together so your car is available for longer trips, as those are a great way to earn a lot at once. The most popular times are usually weekends and evenings, so if you can avoid using your car then, that's even better.
Think of iCarsclub as your own little business. If you invest some time in marketing your car, it's going to pay off big time down the road. The more friends and neighbors you tell about your car, the more potential customers you have.
Keep it competitive!
We know your car may be priceless to you, but your neighbors aren't going to pay $14/hr for a 7 year old hatchback when the car down the block is half as much. Check out how much your neighbors are charging and then try to beat their price. You may make a little less per hour, but your volume should more than make up for it.
Driver record check: Every renter must submit his or her IC and driving license for screening before being allowed to rent a car. With this information, iCarsclub runs a complete driver record check on the renter. Any renter with an incident in his or her driver history is reviewed by our operations team to ensure that they meet our eligibility requirements.
Credit card screening: iCarsclub also runs a check using the renter's credit card information. Together with LTA checks, this gives iCarsclub multiple authentication points from which to assess each renter.

If a renter returns your car with new damage we ask that you contact the renter directly first to understand what happened.
Then please take several photos of the damage and send them to email@example.com along with any relevant details. If the renter is at fault, we will file a claim and a representative from our Claims Department will contact you to guide you through the claims process.
You can sign up using your Facebook account or with your personal email address. Before you make your reservation with iCarsclub, we will ask you to verify your phone number, input your date of birth, upload your IC and driving license. With this information we pull your driving history to make sure it meets our eligibility requirements. We then schedule an online visual verification or offline verification to double confirm you are the license holder. Then, your application is approved.
Everyone who drives an iCars must go through this driving history check in order to rent and/or drive an iCar. You'll also need to connect your Facebook account, and provide your valid payment information.
The application process is easy and quick. We ask for minimal information to create your account. It takes 3 working days for iCarsclub to screen your application. However, we do need to schedule an online visual verification or offline verification with you to double check you are the license holder. Once the verification is done, so you'll be able to reserve any iCar and start driving in minutes.
At this moment, iCarsclub doesn't open to drivers only with foreign licenses. However, you could send a copy of your foreign driving license to hi@iCarsclub.com to prove that you have >2 years of driving experience.
Although we reserve the right to deny membership for any reason, here are the general guidelines:
• be a private individual not less than 25 and not more than 65 years of age;
• have held a valid, full (not provisional)Singapore driving license for at least the 24 months immediately prior to registration, and remain in possession of such licence throughout the period that the iCarDriver remains registered with iCarsclub;
• have no more than 6 demerit points on their driving license;
• have no drink driving convictions or have not had their license suspended or cancelled (excluding any which were incurred more than 5 years prior to the date of registration with iCarsclub);
• have no convictions relating to driving dangerously and/or without insurance;
• have had no accidents or have not been refused insurance or had it terminated in the past 3 years (calculated initially from the date of registration and then subsequently from the date of each booking request).
Representative major violations are listed below, but this list is not all inclusive:
• Speeding 20 km or more over the speed limit
• Felony involving a motor vehicle
• Hit and run or leaving the scene of an accident
• Reckless driving
• License suspension for points
• Driving while license suspended
• Fleeing/eluding arrest
• Any other violations with more severe eventualities than the above
Yes. All renters must be 25 and over.
How It Works
Renter will be charged for the gas cost in a km basis. Please kindly refer to the gas rate during your reservation of iCars.
For the convenience of iCarsclub members, renters have the obligation to top-up the tank when the gas level falls below ¼ tank. Renter can use the iFuelCard (ESSO Fleet Card) equiped inside the iCarKit of each car to top-up without payment on the spot. For cars without iFuelCard, renter can keep and upload the gas receipt to claim the credit for future rentals.
There are two types of cars in the iCarsclub marketplace Keyless Entry and Key Exchange.
Keyless Entry cars can be opened using your mobile phone and the key will be found inside.
For Key Exchange cars you will need to make arrangements with the owner to get the key before the start of the reservation. You will receive the owners contact information once the reservation has been accepted.
Keyless Entry means that renters can gain access to the car with their mobile phone, so there is no need to meet and exchange keys!
Just before a reservation an email and text message will be sent with information about starting the reservation. Reservations can be started by clicking start on the mobile web page sent to you by SMS before the trip starts. Once the trip has started the car doors will unlock!
The key will be found in the car (owner instructions for specific location) and must be used to start the car. During mid-reservation stops use the key to lock and unlock the car.
At the end of the reservation, make sure the key is back where you found it and press end on the mobile web page sent to you by SMS. This will secure the car and lock the doors.
If you do not receive the text message for any reason but do have a confirmed reservation, please contact iCarsclub for help at 67777170.
80% refunds will be issued if a reservation is cancelled in the following cases:
At least 1 hour prior to the start of the trip.
50% refunds will be issued if a reservation is cancelled in the following cases:
After 1 hour prior to the start of the trip and before the trip actually starts.
Any reservations cancelled outside of these parameters will be charged for the full reservation and there are no credits/refunds issued for early return.
Reservations can be extended by logging into www.iCarsclub.com and editing your reservation end time.
In both scenarios, be aware that you may not be able to extend your reservation if another renter has reserved it, so please make sure to verify that the extension to your reservation is confirmed.
Note, that once a trip has started all extensions will be billed as if they were new reservations. If you had originally requested a car for eight hours, and paid the daily rate, and want to extend your reservation for two more hours, you will be billed the hourly rate.
Example, you rented the SilverSurfer for 8 hours and paid $40. If you want to have the car for 2 more hours, you will pay $16 more, or 2 times the hourly rate of $8.
If you return the car late, every 15 minutes after your scheduled return time, you will be charged a onet ime admin fee of $25 and twice of your rental rate for every 1/4 hour past the expected return time. For instance, if you reserve a car until 10am and return it any time from 10:01am to 10:15am, you will be assessed a $25 admin fee plus twice of the normal rental fee for the 15 mins late period. To make sure you don’t return iCars late, please kindly plan your trip and return the iCars 10 mins before your reservation ends.
Only iCarsclub approved drivers are allowed to drive the cars. To be an approved driver, you must go through our sign up process and submit your driver's license information. We check your driving history to ensure it meets our eligibility requirements and if it does, you can drive during any iCarsclub reservation.
If your passengers are approved iCarsclub drivers, great! However, they cannot drive for the trip under your booking, because the insurance is a named driver insurance only for you. You must still be the only driver to pick up and drop off the car, and drive it during the trip.

It becomes your responsibility! If you notify us that you are going to take care of the ticket, you will not be charged any additional administration fees through us. If we receive the ticket from the owner, the credit card used for the reservation will be charged immediately for the amount of the ticket. You may be charged an additional administration fee and/or removed from the community if you consistently receive tickets.
iCarsclub provides physical damage protection (covering what are known as “Comprehensive” and “Collision” losses), as well as liability protection during the rental period. This gets a bit complicated, so we will define those terms below.
Physical Damage: If the car is damaged while in your possession, you will only be responsible for the $1500 deductible. If you engage in any of the Prohibited Uses for the car, you may be held fully liable for any and all damage to the car that you have caused. There are two “covered perils” included in this physical damage coverage:
• Collision: this is when two vehicles hit each other, or when a single vehicle hits an object.
• Comprehensive: this is basically every other property damage to the car that isn't a collision – protection from when the car has sustained damage via flood, vandalism, fire, theft, etc.
Liability: If you cause personal injury of another person, there is unlimited coverage. If you cause damage to the property of another person, then our policy provides liability coverage up to $500,000 per incident. It is also possible that you will qualify as an insured and therefore have coverage available to you under another policy. In those cases, our policy will respond over and above the limits of that other policy, whatever they are, up to our policy limit. This is called “supplemental” coverage in the insurance industry.

We authorize the full reservation amount as soon as you submit your request, which means that the funds are "on hold" and reserved for your rental transaction with iCarsclub.
If you submit a request that is subsequently denied or if you cancel the request within the cancellation policy, we immediately release the authorization, credit the refund into your iCarsclub account for future rentals. You could request iCarsclub to further refund the balance into your credit card account.
Also, be aware that if you incur additional fees such as mileage overage, parking tickets, etc, per our Terms and Conditions we will charge the credit card on file, so please make sure that you have the proper funds available.
The rental price of a car varies by car and location, but we do have cars available for as little as $5/hour, $25/day and $125 per week.
Also, be aware that the renter is responsible for top-up the gas used during the reservation when the gal level falls below ¼ tank. See our Gas Policy for more details.
